Cornman Farms is launching a 4 part cooking class series called Soup to Sauce, offered once per season!
This cooking class series is focused on delicious meal planning! You’ll learn how a single soup recipe can be transformed into a variety of sauces and dishes over the course of a week. Our Fall menu will be centered around the tomato and utilizing the last of this year’s harvest.
What you’ll make:
Soup: Simple yet silky and rich tomato soup. This is farm classic is made with field tomatoes, garlic, shallots and a splash of sherry and white wine. You will learn two ways to transform this base soup into a complex and delicious sauce!
Sauce #1: Transform your tomato soup base into a traditional Italian beef bolognese. Made with 25 ingredients, this sauce captures the best from the kitchen garden. Chef Kieron will demonstrate how to use this sauce to create a savory bread pudding.
Sauce #2: Transform your tomato soup base into a classic Sweet and Sour sauce, combining the sweetness of honey and pineapple with the sourness of rice vinegar. Chef Kieron will demonstrate how to use this sauce to create stir fry with sous vide chicken and rice noodles.
